What was your first experience with exercise? Who taught you how to exercise?
For many of us it was a physical education teacher in an elementary school gym class.
For some of us it was a coach that taught us drills and conditioning exercises while playing a sport.
We were shown or told what to do and we followed along to the best of our ability.
Some of us excelled.
And some of us…well, didn’t.
Either way most of us started forming our views and feelings about exercise from a young age.
We began defining what exercise is – what we think it should look like, how we think it’s supposed to feel, what aspects of it we like and don’t like – a long time ago. Those past experiences, for better or (for a lot of us) worse, continue to shape our current exercise reality.
