Exercise is a lot like ice cream. There are thousands of flavors of ice cream even though the basic components and properties – milk, sugar, cream, coldness – are the same. An exercise experience is also made up of a few basic components – resistance, motions, positions, time, environment – and just like flavors of ice cream there are some exercise experiences you love, some you tolerate, and others you never want to try again.
This is great news for those of you who haven’t yet found a flavor of fitness you like. Maybe there’s a version out there you could love, and you just haven’t discovered it yet! Let’s explore these different flavors of fitness together by looking at a variety of exercise styles, methods, philosophies, and environments. And I’ll share with you my own personal favorites and….not so favorites.
